PTE score calculation and grading system

The PTE score is calculated in two ways :

Correct/Incorrect Scoring – These questions have only 1 correct answer and if you give the right answer, you are awarded 1 point and in case of an incorrect answer – 0.
Partial Credit – The answer to these questions can be correct, partially correct or incorrect based upon the following aspects :
Formal Credit – If the response has been submitted in time and in – correct word limit.
Response quality – It depends on enabling skills which depend on. Content – The answer is unrelated to the topic. Form – The answer does not meet the required word limit.

The PTE test results are graded on the GSE scale (Global Scale of English) in the following co-relative manner :

9. Is there an eligibility criteria for the PTE exam?

The PTE test has the following eligibility criteria
1. Any candidate of any nationality can appear for the PTE test
2. The candidate should be 16 years or older and all candidates under the age of 18 should get a consent letter signed by their parents to be able to appear for the PTE test.
3. There is no educational criteria for the test, the only requirement is that the candidate should be fluent in English.

10. What is the difference between the PTE academic test and PTE academic UKVI test?

The PTE Academic test and the PTE Academic UKVI test are very similar to each other in terms of the content and scoring system. Although, if you are applying for a UK Visa, you will have to take the PTE Academic UKVI test because the registration process of the UKVI test is different and is designed to support your visa application. If you are applying for a UK visa, having a SELT Unique Reference Number (URN) is mandatory which can only be attained by taking the UKVI Academic test.
