Types of Passport issued in India
There are three main types of passports that are issued in India:
Ordinary Passport – An ordinary passport is issued to Indian citizens. These passports are for general purposes which enable the holders to travel abroad on business or holidays.
Official – An official passport, or service passport, is issued to government employees. Its purpose is to inform the authorities of the destination country that the bearer is entering the country on official business, representing his or her country in an official capacity. Official passport holders are generally not given any special privileges.
Diplomatic Passport – A diplomatic passport is issued to diplomats who are traveling on official business and representing their country abroad.
Governments appoint diplomats to conduct official business abroad and to maintain political, economic, and social ties with other nations. In addition to being exempt from prosecution and taxes in the host country, their passports generally grant them certain privileges and immunities.

Step 3. Login to the Passport Seva
Step 4. Click on the “Apply for Fresh Passport”
Step 5. Complete the application form and submit
Step 6. Pay and schedule your appointment
Step 7. Visit the Passport Seva Kendra on the day the appointment is scheduled.
