Funds Required for Canada PR
Canada is a dream destination for any expat, it provides everything, job and study opportunities, an excellent lifestyle, and other amenities which will make your life more satisfactory. If you intend to move to Canada, you will need to ensure that you have enough settlement funds.
What are Settlement Funds?
The settlement fund is the minimum amount of money to have on hand to support yourself and your family as you arrive and adjust your life in Canada. The majority of immigration programs require you to have a minimum amount of money in the bank or as an investment to live in Canada.
Why is it compulsory for applicants to show the funds?
Financial funds are very essential for applying for Canada Permanent Residency. These aren’t just meant to help you survive in a new country, but also to help you thrive. Canada’s Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have set out some minimum requirements of funds for immigrants for two very vital reasons:
- The government of Canada requires applicants to demonstrate funds to gather information on their financial stability in their native countries and their ability to support their native country dependents.
- It prevents you from relying on social assistance and placing pressure on the Canadian government & system until you find a job there.
- To prevent you from having to return to your home country due to financial constraints.
How can applicants show their funds to the IRCC?
Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) permit visa applicants to show funds in the form of:
